History This series of fishing boats were commissioned by the Quebec provincial government and built in a Gaspe boatyard as well as a small shipyard Davie Bros. The boat had an oil engine but it was later replaced. The boats had also originally two mast and sails. The design was developed by Howard Chapelle, a naval architect of Boston but born in Nova Scotia.
