If there’s a second most murky “original knife” story after the Bowie, this is it. This a replica of a knife that was supposedly taken off a fallen warrior after an Indian siege by Daniel Boone. The knives had been gifted to the Indians by British Royal Governor Hamilton for attacking the Kentucky settlements of Boonesboro and Harrodsburg. Whether the story is true or not, this is a perfect replica of a classic pattern of what came to be known as a “Rifleman’s Knife”. At 16-1/2” overall, this is a devastating fighting weapon with serious reach, and it has a solid brass oval guard and two large brass rivets to secure the hardwood handle on the encapsulated tang.
