This is a recreation of an antique knife that sits in the Tennessee War Memorial Museum in Nashville. The partially decomposed knife is a medium length dagger which was excavated in front of the “Odd Fellows Hall” Dresden, TN. The blade is partially corroded, and the guard is missing. Roughly half of the grip is rotted away. “D. Crockett” is etched into the blade.
Famous as a frontiersman, Crockett lived in western Tennessee when he served in the U.S. House of Representatives, before meeting his fate at the Alamo along with Jim Bowie.
This stout replica has a tough, hand forged blade that’s supplied sharp. We’ve given this reproduction a brass oval guard of a design that was commonly used during the time the original knife was made. The grip is hardwood stained a medium brown with a brass buttcap.
Includes a tough leather belt sheath that has an extra wide belt loop (big enough to accept a 3-3/4” wide belt) and a leather retaining strap.
