13th Century Great Helmet

$119.95

Circa 13th -15th Centuries

The great helm was developed early in the 13th century and was a mainstay of the medieval fighting man, lasting for over 300 years. Sometimes worn over a smaller helmet and mail, this beautiful helmet, with its menacing, narrow eye slits, was a strong, tough steel helmet fully capable of absorbing the shock of combat. This replica has brass reinforcing bands and is produced by hand with the same techniques used over 600-800 years ago. 18 gauge high carbon steel with an adjustable fabric liner. From Noble Armoury.
