Often celebrated as "the most beautiful ship in the world," the Amerigo Vespucci has served as the pride of the Italian Navy since her launch in 1931. Built at the historic Castellammare di Stabia shipyard near Naples, this magnificent full-rigged sailing ship continues to train generations of Italian naval officers while symbolizing excellence in seamanship, tradition, and maritime heritage.Inspired by the elegance of eighteenth-century ships of the line yet incorporating twentieth-century naval engineering, the Amerigo Vespucci has become an enduring icon recognized by sailors and collectors around the world. Her graceful proportions, distinctive black-and-white striped hull, towering masts, and beautifully balanced rigging have made her one of the most photographed and celebrated sailing ships ever constructed. Captain Heritage faithfully recreates this legendary vessel through exceptional craftsmanship and meticulous attention to historical detail.
