Roman Emperor Aurelian — AD 270–275

Celebrate the man who reunited a fractured empire and, in a way, gave rise to the modern celebration of Christmas. Emperor Aurelian (AD 270–275) restored strength and stability to Rome during one of its darkest eras—the “Age of Chaos.” Known for his military victories against the Goths, Vandals, and Palmyra, Aurelian also established December 25th as the date for the Natale Solis Invicti—the Festival of the Unconquered Sun. Early Christians later adopted this date to celebrate the birth of Christ, earning Aurelian the honorary title of “Father of Christmas.”

Each coin in this exclusive boxed set is a genuine ancient Roman bronze struck during Aurelian’s reign, securely encapsulated and accompanied by a full Certificate of Authenticity. The obverse features the portrait of Emperor Aurelian; the reverses vary with mythological and military motifs symbolizing victory and renewal.
